On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to the Centers free telemedicine service, e-Sanjeevani, as a "lifesaving app" for the average person.

The Prime Minister stated in his monthly radio program "Mann Ki Baat" that more than ten crore people had used the app to receive teleconsultations. The Prime Minister said, "E-Sanjeevani is becoming a lifesaving app for the countrys common man, for the middle class, for people living in hilly areas. This is the power of Indias digital revolution."

Modi spoke with a Sikkim-based physician who has used the eSanjeevani app to consult with over 500 patients in hill states and a Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, resident who used the apps teleconsultation function.

E-Sanjeevani is made up of two verticals. The First aims to close the digital health gap between rural and urban areas by offering supported teleconsultations and ensuring that Ayushman Bharat Scheme beneficiaries can access benefits. The second aim is to serve urban and rural residents, using technology to make doctor consultations accessible from the patients home.

Stating UPI (Unified Payments Interface) as an example of the power of Indias digital revolution, Mr. Modi noted that several nations are drawn to it. "UPI-Pay Now Link" was introduced between India and Singapore a few days ago, helping people in Singapore and India transfer money using their phones as they do within their nations.
